Chase Young, PhD, is a professor in the School of Teaching and Learning at Sam Houston State University. He earned his PhD in Reading Education from the University of North Texas in 2012. Previously, he was the Silverman Endowed Chair of Literacy at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. In 2014, the ALER selected him as their Jerry Johns Promising Researcher, and he was awarded the College of Education Excellence Award in Research in 2021. He is currently an editor of Literacy Research and Instruction and previously served as editor of the Journal of Teacher Action Research and the Texas Journal of Literacy Education. Before entering higher education, he taught elementary school and served as a reading coach.

Registration total for both sessions is $30 and includes a copy of the book Artfully Teaching the Science of Reading which will be distributed at the first session. There is no individual session option.

Registration total for both sessions is $150 and includes a copy of the book Artfully Teaching the Science of Reading which will be distributed at the first session.
One Day Option for Teacher/Librarian/Administrator with more than 1 year experience:
Individual sessions are $75 and do not include a copy of the book. Book will be available for purchase.
Contact Hours: A certificate for 5 contact hours will be available at the end of each presentation.
